Trinity Lutheran Lectio Divina
Grow with Pastor Coe by reading the Bible devotionally every day this Lent.

To read the Bible devotionally, I recommend Lectio Divina (Divine Reading), one of the church's most practiced devotional forms.
Lectio Divina involves 4 steps:
  1. Lectio - Read the assigned text.
  2. Meditatio - Write down what God highlights on your heart from what you have read.
  3. Oratio - Pray to God what you have written.
  4. Contemplatio - Quietly enjoy what God has given you today.
Use the reading list from the Daily Lectionary below, taken from Lutheran Service Book p. 299:

Weekly Workouts in the Word

Disciplined Disciples
Do you feel like a dissipated dilettante or a disciplined disciple? God's Word & Spirit equip us with the necessary personal disciplines for recreating in God and recreating His world. Sundays at 9:15am with Pastor Coe.

Essentials of Parenting
DVD series from Focus on the Family presents practical plans for dealing with dangers including internet pornography, alcohol, drugs, eating disorders, and premarital sex. You'll see how to resist the impulse to overprotect your child. Prepare your child for the world of today and tomorrow. Sundays at 9:15am with Pastor Dan & Deb Heuer.

Beloved Disciple
Using Beth Moore's study, Beloved Disciple, we see how the disciple John went from being "the brother of James" to "the disciple whom Jesus loved." By studying how Christ took John on a lifelong journey into the depths of His love, we learn how Christ wants to do the same for us. "The Bridegroom's love is unmatched and inexhaustible, and He is waiting to lavish it on you, His beloved." Mondays at 6:15am with Deb Heuer - the coffee is ready!

Provoking Proverbs
If you seek wisdom like silver and search for it as hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. Mondays at noon & Wednesdays at 10am with Pastor Coe.

Friendship in Christ
Since 1978, women have faithfully flocked around coffee, snacks, and God's Word on Tuesday mornings and found friendship in Christ. Enjoy sisterly fellowship on Tuesdays at 9:30am with Gloria Royuk.

Grief Share
A 13-week course leads us on the journey from mourning to joy. Christians share the loss of a loved one and the hope found in Jesus. Tuesdays at 6:30pm with Pastor Heuer.

Old Rugged Revelation
As the old, rugged Apostle John wrote Revelation at the outpost of Patmos, so these old, rugged men revel in Revelation at the Outpost Grille over breakfast every Thursday at 6:30am with Pastors Levenhagen & Coe.

Men's Hour
Take the next step toward Courageous Living. 6-7am Fridays, Feb 24, Mar 2, 16, 30, Apr 13, 27 in Youth Room - breakfast & coffee provided.

Build Up the Body of Christ
Get pumped by joining Trinity Lutheran as a muscular member. The Bible says we cannot be built up by God without building up each other. Beginning May 13, 2012 during the Sunday School hour, Pastor Coe will teach a 4-week new member class, focusing on the core, arms, and legs of a tried and true Trinity Lutheran. Email dcoe@trinityfremont.org to get pumped.
