Tentative Confirmation Schedule
2011-2012
The following is a tentative schedule of classes and homework assignments that will be used to help Confirmation students fulfill the following goals:
- Each youth will have a saving faith in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior
- Confirmation ministry will partner with parents to help youth grow in faith, develop spiritually and become intimately familiar with Scripture.
- Youth will have a Biblical understanding of the Six Chief Parts as explained in Luther’s Small Catechism and how they affect their daily walk with God.
- Youth will be equipped to understand and receive Holy Communion as an adult member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
- Youth will be equipped and commit to reflecting the love of God in how they live their daily lives.
- Youth will be equipped and commit to reaching out to the world with the love of God.
- Youth will be equipped and commit to following the example of Jesus Christ and live as a servant leader.
- Youth will be equipped and commit to using their time, talent and treasure to God’s glory.
- Youth will develop healthy relationships with the staff, caring volunteers and one another as they become “the church”.
Homework/Memory work is assigned for most weeks. Memory work is to be recited at home. Parents will be asked to sign the enclosed sheet to verify that memory work has been completed. Students will also bring home a “Parent Page” each week that will foster family discussion on faith topics and will also require a signature.
